~ Patriots of Ketoctin Chapter Members ~
While most of the
Revolutionary War battles in Virginia remained east of the Blue Ridge
Mountains, it can be said that there was no lack of patriotism in the outspoken
citizens of Loudoun County. So active were they in the cause of American
freedom that they gained the proud distinction of furnishing the largest number
of soldiers to Washington's Continental Army of any county in Virginia. We are
justifiably proud of the sacrifices our patriotic ancestors gave to ensure
American Independence, and honor their names in this listing.
